Mayberry Spirits - downtown, $ for tasting
Many vineyards within easy drive. Details will be in your goodie bag.
Granite quarry - largest one in the U.S. Located in Mt. Airy
Home of Andy Griffith - cannot tour. Available through Hampton Inn to stay overnight. Just
drive by it.
Shopping downtown - great places to eat (Snappy Lunch - open till 2, Miss Angel's Heavenly
Pies, etc - she also does a tour of her bakery),
several antique stores
souvenir stores
Doggie store and doggie spa
This just names a few. There is more to downtown than you might think.
